The Youth Employment Scheme (YES) provides young people with a 12-month, entry-level opportunity to work in the Victorian Public Service while completing accredited training. YES Traineeships combine on-the-job training with formal learning, so you get valuable work experience while studying towards a qualification.
We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join a fast-paced team within State Government located in Moe, working as an Administration Support Officer Trainee. You will be supported to learn everything from the ground up. As a trainee, you’ll work with a workplace mentor who will support and guide you.
You would gain experience in the workplace by assisting in various administration tasks and duties, including but not limited to:
- Answer and respond to incoming phone call and enquiries
- Receive visitors and clients when they arrive at the office
- Co-ordinate administrative duties and prioritise tasks
- File correspondence and other records
- Data Entry and other administrative tasks
- Action and respond to email correspondences
- Process invoices and claims
- General office duties including support for staff events
- Other duties as required
Due to the nature of the role, you will be exposed to highly confidential information, so we are seeking a mature-minded, resilient individual to provide professional and efficient administration services.
We will be looking for someone who displays the following skills and personal qualities:
- Knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Empathy can establish a natural rapport with a range of people.
- Time management and organisational skills.
- The ability to prioritise tasks and handle confidential material.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
