The opportunity:
The Business Solutions Specialist will ensure the definition and delivery of solutions to support delivery the transformation scope.
They will achieve this by working closely with business and technology stakeholders in defining scope and requirements, identifying and documenting existing and future business processes, and designing functional aspects of solutions in alignment with business needs, and in conjunction with the technology team.
Responsible for driving the change arising from the transformation scope they will take on a proactive role in understanding the business needs arising from the project and ensure creation of correct artefacts across its lifecycle.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Key resource to drive synergy and ‘best in class’ systems and process, across the organisation following recent acquisition and merger.
- Coordinate with brand teams and group senior management to understand business challenges, potential benefits and develop effective solutions. Drive Group synergies with respect to systems, processes, service providers and architecture.
- Document existing processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Elicit and document business requirements, working with the technology Team to design solutions that best meet these requirements.
- Document future processes and drive the implementation of these across the organisation, ensuring consistency of process and procedures across the Group.
- Engage stakeholders both internal and external to ensure shared understanding, expectations and buy in for recommendations.
- Manage expectations and interactions with stakeholders, while addressing any queries or concerns regarding proposed solutions.
- Support in the development of business case documentation, project planning, progress reporting, and identifying and managing risks & issues.
- Prepare any necessary materials, inclusive of presentations, to represent the Transformation Program to stakeholders and the senior leadership teams
- Ensure all activities are delivered in accordance with the defined, project management methodology, governance, and quality framework.
The skills and experience we are looking for:
- Experience in a similar role within a medium to large sized organisation, within the retail industry.
- An understanding of business process complexity, cost, and revenue drivers
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to negotiate with, influence and build consensus with a wide range of stakeholders, including the most senior members of management
- Outcomes-focussed, with the ability to work autonomously, delivering quality outcomes to agreed deadlines
- Strong analytical problem solving and change leadership skills
- Strong business analysis and engagement background and understanding of the application of solutions within the retail and wholesale sectors.
- Consultative and open minded, with highly effective communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail
