Buyer (Furniture & Homewares) ~ Hybrid!

Due to ongoing growth and expansion both locally and internationally, an exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Buyer to expand the Furniture category by sourcing and developing new product ranges and working closely with retail partners.

Working closely with the Buying team and Category Manager, you will be responsible for product development, sourcing, procurement, negotiation, and supplier relationship management.

Reporting to the Head of the Furniture Category, your responsibilities include;

• Assisting in sourcing and selecting suppliers for a various product areas
• Working with the Category manager to develop and curate a diverse product range 
• Sourcing and visiting overseas factories and trade fairs for new, innovative and on-trend product mix to meet customer’s needs
• Managing the current product category range ensuring selection of the most appropriate product and margin mix
• Liaising with and meeting key retail partners for current and future opportunities
• Expanding and maintaining supplier relationships to grow the product category
• Analysing market trends and competitors ranges to make informed product decisions
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including graphics, logistics, quality compliance and other buying departments
• Negotiating and securing terms with suppliers in addition to executing programmes (with Team support)

Ideally, you will have;

• Previous Buying experience 
• Strong analytical and research skills to identify market trends and opportunities
• Understanding of the product development processesExcellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently
• Intermediate to Advanced MS Office Excel Skills
