With a continued focus on the future, Michael Hill is looking for an energetic and career focussed Buyer to join our global Merchandise team, here in Brisbane.

This full-time opportunity will be responsible for the end to end curation and retail implementation of your category under the leadership and guidance of a Senior Buyer, ensuring sales and profit are optimised.

In this hands-on role, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Range strategy to deliver sales and profit
• Manage the full product development cycle for Diamond Fashion category
• Financial management of category to achieve margin targets
• Maintaining and developing multiple supplier relationships and ensuring supplier delivery against KPIs
• Provide guidance and mentorship to more junior team members
• Work collaboratively with cross functional teams

Ideally you will be able to showcase: 

• Driven by creative product development with an eye for detail
• Strong trend and market awareness
• High level of commercial acumen
• Buying and Product Development background (while having jewellery experience is ideal, it isn’t a necessity)
• Experience in a retail head office in a Buying role
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously
• Ability to work proactively in a team environment with a flexible, can do attitude
