ABOUT THE ROLE
A newly created opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and experienced Engineering Design Manager. This role will be a Full Time position based remotely, however in partnership with our regional manufacturing facility, based in Warwick QLD. The Design Team largely work off-site so the successful applicant would need to be comfortable running the team in this format. Together, you will provide high quality, end to end design projects and solutions in smooth operations and create efficiencies through the organisation. The product is largely based around the Aluminium Service Body so any previous experience in this sheet metal field is a plus.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
We seek a reliable individual with previous experience in Mechanical Engineering or a form of a Technical Design Degree with transferrable skills relevant to the tasks.
Essential skills include:
- Management of a remote team effectively
- Qualification in Mechanical Engineering / Form of Technical Design Degree
- SolidWorks and Onshape experience is essential
- 5+ years in Design (Automotive/ Road/ Transport) Industry
- Strong leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively
- Keeping to deadlines.
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- A Can-Do attitude and a hunger for results in efficiency and QA Goals.
- An interest in modernising manufacturing processes and working with Automation in Manufacturing
- A Hunger to learn and develop!
TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and creation of innovative solutions to suit customer specifications
- Oversee the entire design process, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness
- Actively support the Design Team and Design Staff
- Proactively seek and implement continuous improvement opportunities
- Required to be the point of contact for technical concerns
- Create and sustain effective tools for monitoring and reporting on design progress.
- Ensure appropriate governance oversight to uphold regulatory and organisational compliance, as well as design and contractual obligations.
