The Role:
We are seeking a CAD Operator to join the design team at our Lane Cove West facility, to support the development and manufacture of new Signature products with the CAD models, engineering drawings and other specifications required.
Our design team is responsible for the development of our implants, surgical instruments, and patient-matched devices, as well as supporting our marketing, regulatory and production departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate and maintain CAD models, engineering drawings, and other required documents for parts required for product development & production, including:
- Test/proof of concept parts
- Forgings/castings
- Machining fixtures
- Inspection gauges & fixtures
- Surgical instruments
- Revise existing specifications
- Provide support material/data for regulatory submissions, FMEA and product testing, including FEA models and Range of motion analysis
- Review and approve peer design specifications
- Create and maintain company CAD templates
- Set up and maintain products in our database
Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Tertiary CAD qualification or equivalent
- Demonstrable skills using 3D CAD software, preferably Solidworks, for solid and surface modelling, as well as engineering drawing.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes
- GD&T knowledge/experience
- Strong Organisational skills
Desirable:
- Experience using CAD in a similar role
- Experience in manufacturing
- A mechanical/technical aptitude
- Strong problem-solving ability
