Zoie has a busy breakfast and lunch trade and we see the next phase of our growth is to move into the event and function space. This job would suit someone with the creativity and drive to support this move, while maintaining our current strengths – in effect, treating it like it’s their own business.
The role includes:
● Maintaining high levels of customer service - Getting to know regular customers, greeting guests and seeking feedback from customers on their satisfaction with menu quality, value, and customer service.
● Selection, training, rostering, supervising and developing Front of House and Back of House staff in consultation with Head of Kitchen
● Opening and closing the café, involving till reconciliation and recording financial performance
● Monitoring stock, maintaining records, ordering from suppliers and maintaining and building supplier relationships
● Working within cost of goods sold and wage budgets to maintain a sustainable and profitable business
● Planning and organising catering and special functions held after-hours at the café
● Taking and managing bookings in conjunction with managing walk-in traffic to ensure operational efficiency is maintained
● Ensuring compliance with the Food Act and Health and Safety Regulations and making sure the café has a clean, attractive appearance.
This job is 40hrs over five days a week and does include some weekend work.
The applicant must have:
● At least 2 years Management experience in a busy cafe/restaurant environment
● Prior experience with making coffee and food preparation
● A high level of organisational skills
● The ability to be energetic and engaging with team members and customers
● Diploma level study in hospitality
