We are seeking an Instrumentation Calibration Technician to join our team in Melbourne on a permanent full-time basis.
Traveling to remote locations to perform onsite calibrations and repairs is a requirement of this role.
Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Correctly calibrate and service instrumentation in conformance with relevant WIKA Australia Pty Ltd or International standards and procedures.
- Have a thorough understanding in Temperature, Pressure, Humidity, Weighing and Scales Instrumentation principles of operation and application.
- Follow procedures related to ISO/IEC 17025 and demonstrate independency in technical judgment.
- Plan, perform and calibrate instruments according to relevant validated work methods and standards to stated accuracy.
- Repairs instruments as per customer’s requirements.
- Follow strict safety procedures and safety checks.
- Liaise with sales, purchasing, production and other departments to ensure that product/service provision complies to relevant standards and according to customer’s requirements.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Keep up to date with technical developments, especially those which can save time and improve reliability.
- Maintain and initiate productivity improvement.
- Work within Quality Management System framework.
Experience, skills and qualifications:
- Essential Qualification:
Completion of a Certificate level III qualification with relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Desirable Qualification:
Certificate level IV in instrumentation or Bachelor degree in Technology/Electronics and Science.
- Minimum of three years’ relevant experience within a calibration laboratory which covers electronic repairs and trouble shooting.
- Strong knowledge of electronics/Electrical and/or measurement techniques.
- Mechanically-minded and hands-on.
- Experience in writing procedures and work instructions and calculating uncertainties.
- Ability to apply high-school level math, in problem-solving complex equipment and machines,
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good computer skills and proficient with Microsoft office programs.
- Ability to work under pressure maintaining customer focus and attention to.
- Australian drivers license essential.
