Church Profile: We are a vibrant Church in the heart of Torquay that seeks to create a safe place to worship for Christians. This is accomplished primarily through the Biblical Preaching of the Word of God and the authentic living out of God’s Word through community. Theologically Elevate has a Reformed – Evangelical influence however we enjoy meaningful fellowship with many congregants whose beliefs slightly vary. Our Church is known for its strong unity among those who attend and for our welcoming demeanour with visitors.

Job Summary: The Campus Pastor at Elevate Church will be responsible for carrying out the vision of our Church. He will motivate people through strong Biblical Teaching and an encouraging relational approach. As a solo Pastor he will be available for a wide range of tasks, from practical to pastoral as needs arise. He will have scope to develop a local vision as he carries out the stated mission in accordance with the beliefs of Elevate Church. 

Elevate Church is in a strong position for the right leader to add to their leadership team/staff so as to increase the effectiveness of the local Church and to distribute the workload.

This is a work from home position for most of the time, excluding meetings you may have and Sunday services. 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching
   • Preach exegetically through the Bible, occasionally to preach topically so long as the topic is studied in an exegetical fashion. 
   • Assist in the development of sermon series and educational programs that align with the church's mission and core beliefs.
   • Lead an in home Bible Study at least once per fortnight. 
2. Pastoral Care
   • Have the sensitivity to be able to respond to various Pastoral needs as they arise. This may include general conversations after the service on a Sunday, providing clarity on theological issues, giving Biblical wisdom on a wide array of topics. 
3. Administration
   • Perform administrative tasks related to church services, including scheduling, event planning, and maintaining records.
   • Be up to date with relevant legislation so as to maintain our legal obligations. 
4.  Leadership
   • Guide key ministry leaders as they carry out their ministry responsibilities.
   • Think strategically so that the Church is on target to reach its long term goals, in accordance with the Churches statement of purpose. 

Key Selection Criteria/Qualifications:

• A strong commitment to the Christian faith and alignment with the church's mission and core beliefs.
• A good understanding of theological concepts. 
• Formal theological training or a willingness to pursue ongoing training. 
• High Level Interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with ministry leaders and congregants of all ages.
• Evidence of an ability to lead himself and others well. 
• Ongoing commitment for personal development. 
   

Working Conditions: The role offered is full-time but could be structured in varying ways depending on the situation. Such as someone who would prefer to be bi-vocational, support staff members could be employed to fulfil various roles within the Church. This can be structured in conversation with the eligible candidate.
