Xavier College is now in search of a Canteen and Uniform Shop Assistantto undertake a 12-month replacement contract, commencing early June 2024.
The Canteen and Uniform Shop Assistant will work in a part-time capacity (Monday – Friday, 26 hours per week, 40 weeks of the school year), assisting with all duties at the Gawler Belt campus Canteen and Uniform Shops.
Canteen Shop
- Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of food for students and staff at designated eating times
- Operate an electronic cash register and EFTPOS terminal
- Unpack food deliveries and check against order forms
- Undertake cleaning of equipment, benches, fridges and ovens and ensure the Canteen is left at the end of each day ready for the next day’s activities
- Ensure the Canteen is always presented in a clean and hygienic state and in compliance with sanitation, hygiene, and Health & Safety Legislation
Uniform Shop
- Assist parents and students with the sizing and purchasing of College uniforms during designated times
- Unpack uniform stock and check against order forms
- Ensure the Uniform Shop remains in a clean and orderly state
- Assist the College community with any enquiries relating to the Canteen and Uniform Shop
Hours of work
Canteen Shop:
- Monday, 9.30am – 2.30pm
- Tuesday, Wednesday, 9.30am – 2.00pm
- Thursday, 7.00am – 2.00pm
- Friday, 9.30am – 2.00pm
Uniform Shop:
- Monday, 2.30pm – 4.00pm

The successful candidate will have previous experience in school canteen, commercial kitchen or previous experience in the retail and/or food industries.
