Car/Machinery Spray Painter & Repairman
We are seeking an experienced and competent Spray Painter and Repairman who enjoys producing high quality work and with excellent attention to detail.
A full time casual position is offered for an initial period of three months to overhaul a small fleet of vehicles and other equipment and bring it up to a good standard of repair and presentation. It is envisaged this will then evolve into a full-time permanent position for the right applicant to maintain the fleet to a high standard and branch out into other areas of our small and dynamic steel building company based in Roleystone
Applicants must be able to demonstrate:
- A positive and progressive attitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to plan and schedule projects and resources
- Ability to work effectively autonomously and in a small team
- Appropriate experience with spray painting & machinery maintenance and repairs – at least 2-3 years + in this type of environment
Responsibilities Include:
Reporting to the company director, the key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Spray painting and sand blasting vehicles and other equipment
- Preparing surfaces for paint application
- Mix and colour match paints to meet job requirements
- Brush touch, paint/blend any defective areas of coated items.
- Carry out minor repairs where necessary
- Producing high quality outcomes and handling all vehicles with due care and attention
- Keeping work area clean and tidy and disposing of all waste materials safely
- work to OSH guidelines at all times
Qualifications/Training/Certificates:
- Driver's Licence “C” Class
- Trade Certificates / VOC's (Desireable)
- Competency using hand tools
- Forklift Ticket (Desireable)
A generous hourly rate of $50ph is offered for an initial three month contract on a casual basis. It is envisaged that a full time permanent position will then be available based on mutual suitability at that point.
