We are Australia’s first state-of-the-art, specialist cardiac facility, providing innovative, holistic and patient-centred care, committed to serving the needs of the community.We are now looking for motivated, professional individuals to join us in Ward Clerk positions, as the first point of contact for our patients and their families. These are permanent, part time positions working across a 24/7 rotating roster commencing in May 2024. Availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster, Monday to Sunday, is required (AM: 0700-1500, PM: 1500-2300, MID PM: 1800-0200, ND: 2300-0700).Ward Clerks – Cardiac Emergency at Victorian Heart HospitalOur Ward Clerk positions are key to providing customer focused service and support to patients and their families. Working in a busy, team-based environment, if appointed, you will deliver efficient and effective clerical support to the clinical ward staff and make a direct contribution to optimum patient care and the functioning of the unit.As the first point contact for our patients when they attend our unit, a welcoming manner with clear communication skills combined with empathy and patience is essential. As an ambassador of the Emergency Cardiac Team, the Ward Clerk is truly passionate about helping others, especially in challenging situations..About YouAs a talented and accomplished Ward Clerk, you will thrive working collaboratively within a truly welcoming and passionate Cardiac Emergency team.To ensure your success in this role, you will have following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

• previous experience greeting and attending to patients in person or by telephone
• ability to record information accurately and in a timely manner
• sound computer skills to undertake a variety of clerical tasks including Medicare billing for outpatient clinics
• excellent customer services skills and ability to remain calm and helpful in a challenging or changing environment.
• attention to detail coupled with ability to priority competing tasks and deadlines
• able to work autonomously as well as part of a wider multidisciplinary team
