About the OpportunitySullivan Nicolaides Pathology has an opportunity for a permanent full-time or part-time Cardiac Scientist. This office-based role will see you working 8 am – 4 pm, Monday to Friday at the Bowen Hills Laboratory, reporting to the Cardiology Services Manager.
The purpose of this position is to provide clinical measurement services in the field of Cardiology across the key services of Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring, Holter Monitoring and ECGs.
This role is required to work closely with our team of Cardiac Scientists, Consulting Cardiologists and administration staff to ensure excellence in customer service and patient care. This position will receive clinical guidance and supervision from the Senior Cardiac Scientist.
Some of the other specific responsibilities of the position are to:
- Analysing and interpreting data from Holter Monitors, Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors, and ECGs to complete preliminary reports
- Offering support and troubleshooting assisting staff in Cardiology Services
- Contributing to the timely release of patient results to doctors and specialists
- Supporting collection staff in the application and removal of cardiac patient monitoring devices
- Providing administrative support to the Cardiology Services Team, including resource development, quality improvement initiatives, and project involvement
A Bachelor's Degree (Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 7) or a Postgraduate qualification (AQF Level 8) in Healthcare Science with subjects of study specific to cardiac science, Work Integrated Learning (WIL) clinical placement and relevant post-graduate experience. This experience will include demonstrated experience in contributing to the diagnosis and care of patients through the application, interpretation and preliminary reporting of Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors, Holter Monitors and ECGs.

- Demonstrated ability in Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel and Outlook) and the willingness to learn various Cardiology-specific applications

Previous experience with Medilog Darwin for Holter analysis, accreditation with the Australian Council for Clinical Physiologists and membership of PiCSA are highly regarded though not essential. The position also requires that you are vaccinated or immune against specified infectious diseases. All costs pertaining the Staff Vaccination Program are covered by the Practice.
You will have high-level organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise work, and meet deadlines. Your strong ability to provide high-level customer service and patient care will help you succeed in this role.
