We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the Cardiology Department. We are seeking a highly motivated Cardiac Technologist with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. The role of the Cardiac Technologist will be able to complete the following:
- Recording of transthoracic echocardiographic studies (M-mode, 2D, colour and Doppler) on inpatients and outpatients with digital recordings and provision of a typed technician’s report in the format determined by the Director of Echocardiography from time to time. Recording of Stress Echocardiograms (treadmill and dobutamine).
- Technical assistance for doctors performing transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE)
- Maintenance of the equipment and supplies for the Echocardiography Department.
- Participate in regular performance indicator reviews.

- Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
- Qualified and experienced Cardiac Sonographer. Holding a Post Graduate Degree in Cardiac Sonography, or equivalent Diploma Medical Ultrasound (DMU) degree. Must be registered with the Australian Sonographer. Accreditation Registry (ASAR).
- Demonstrated experience in performing Cardiac Sonography and Stress Echocardiography.
- Demonstrated ability to provide the highest quality imaging and patient care.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal, communication and organisational skills with the ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- Demonstrated flexibility, ensuring that work is clinically prioritised to effectively meet deadlines with attention to detail.
