Care Companion

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Caring and professional Care Companions wanted to join the dynamic and friendly team at the 33-bed Edgewater Mercy Hostel. 

• Permanent Part Time and Casual Positions available
• Located in Edgewater close to Joondalup with good transport links
• Over award rates of pay
• Providing care and support to our residents at our Aged Care home
• Responsibilities include everyday activities of cooking, cleaning, laundry, personal hygiene, general activity, medication administration, leisure activities and other general household duties
• Promoting the physical and emotional wellbeing of residents by partnering with residents to be involved in the meaningful activities of their life

 ABOUT YOU:

• Certificate III or IV in Aged Care or Individual Support
• Previous experience in Aged Care is desirable
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Previous experience in cooking or in a hospitality environment

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

• Candidates are required to meet the position and qualification requirements.
• Provide a valid NDIS clearance check (Mercy Health may conduct additional background checks subject to current legislation).
• Proof of vaccination status consistent with public health orders and with Mercy Health’s policy (includes but is not limited to COVID-19 and seasonal influenza vaccination compliance requirement).

Employment with Mercy Health is subject to satisfactory background checks which can include Police Record Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
