The role is responsible for delivering positive customer experiences and service delivery to residents. The position spans all aspects of managing a Retirement Village, including operational, lifestyle and governance elements to ensure the village provides high-quality services in a safe and welcoming environment while operating within budget and meeting compliance requirements. The Village Manager will be responsible for the management of a small team spanning maintenance, gardening, and administration as appropriate for the village, based on size and service offering. This role will begin as a part-time position with the view towards conversion to full-time later this year.Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Village Manager will be responsible for:
- Raising awareness of RSL LifeCare internally and externally, while understanding and addressing the individual needs of residents.
- Embedding the LifeCare Way by establishing clear operating procedures to improve resource efficiency, communication, and create an open and inclusive culture.
- Lead by identifying and understanding the needs of both RSL LifeCare (strategic goals) and residents (well-being). Utilize negotiation and advocacy skills to ensure success.
- Promote RSL LifeCare in the local community by building relationships with businesses, groups, and other RSL LifeCare managers.
- Collaborate with sales and property teams to achieve occupancy targets and other key performance indicators. Share best practices with other Village Managers to deliver exceptional service and resident experiences.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an operational management capacity, such as village, site or facility management, community management, or similar, and a demonstrated ability to implement change and manage a high-performing team.
- Diversity of thought and experience gained across retirement living, health care, aged care, or other customer-focused sectors (e.g. hospitality and retail).
- Sound financial acumen with experience performing effectively against operational budgets.
- Experience in mediation and dealing with complex issues and relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and an ability to build meaningful relationships.
