Career Pathways Coordinator 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our organization as a Career Pathways Coordinator. As the Career Pathways Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the recognition and assessment of prior learning experiences of individuals in addition to also playing a pivotal role in connecting students with meaningful internship opportunities, fostering relationships with industry partners, and ensuring a positive and valuable internship experience for both students and employers. The role will also manage the on-campus hands-on workshops students are required to complete during their course. 

Reporting to the Higher Education Manager, this role involves: 

RPL:

  • Develop, implement, and manage the organization's RPL process in compliance with relevant policies and procedures and advise of updates and changes needed where required. 
  • Guide prospective candidates through the RPL application process, providing clear information and assistance.
  • Conduct initial assessments of candidates' eligibility for RPL.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of RPL applications, assessments, and outcomes via the RPL register.
  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure the integrity and consistency of RPL assessments.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in RPL to continuously improve the program.
  • Liaise with academic staff, administrators, and external accrediting bodies to facilitate the RPL process.
  • Provide training to assessors and administration involved in the RPL process, ensuring a standardized and fair approach.
  • Develop and deliver workshops for candidates to enhance their understanding of the RPL process.

Internships:

  • Collaborate with the academic team to understand internship requirements and align them with industry needs.
  • Develop and maintain a diverse and robust portfolio of internship opportunities for students.
  • Cultivate and nurture relationships with local businesses, organizations, and industry partners to secure internship placements.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the institution and employers to understand their needs and expectations.
  • Provide guidance and support to students seeking internships, including assistance with resume building, interview preparation, and career development.
  • Conduct information sessions and workshops to educate students on the benefits and expectations of internships.
  • Coordinate the internship placement process, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for both students, employers, and external Internship companies. 
  • Establish and implement processes for monitoring and evaluating the success of internships, including feedback from both students and employers.
  • Track and report on internship outcomes, including conversion rates to full-time employment.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and EIT policies related to internships.
  • Maintain accurate records of internship placements, agreements, and evaluations.

Workshops:

  • Collaborate with the Lab coordinator to schedule bi-annual workshops.
  • Coordinate the laboratory room requirements and resources needed for workshops.
  • Assist the lab coordinator to keep labs and workshops tidy, neat, and free from safety hazards.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Lab coordinator and students.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Lab coordinator and workshop instructors for scheduling. 
  • Collaborate with the HE Administration team to track students needing to complete workshops for graduation requirements.
  • Contact students who are required to complete workshops.
  • Maintain accurate records of workshop participants, completion, and evaluations. 

Personal Qualities: 

  • Proven experience in managing RPL processes within an educational or vocational context and previous experience in internship coordination, career services, or related roles is desirable.
  • Familiarity with relevant accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, networking, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with internship best practices, industry trends, and labour market dynamics.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Passion for supporting the professional development and career success of students.
