As a member of the College¿s Career Team the successful applicant will work within the team to ensure all responsibilities for the Transforming Career Education DET requirements are met. This includes but is not limited to
- Annual career action plan for all Year 9-12 students - linked to any personalised learning and support plans
- Development and implementation of careers curriculum
- Ensure that all students have career counselling and targeted support during the course counselling process as well as to provide general course counselling to students throughout the school year, including change of subject discussions
- Ensure that College pathways data is up to date and reported where necessary, and provide information to complete the supplementary census
- Provide attendance to Dandenong Valley Careers Education Association (DVCEA) Meetings, Careers Practitioner Days and other relevant meetings/industry forums to maintain Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA) professional standards
- Participate in meetings including but not limited to; parent/teacher interviews and meetings, leadership meetings, sub-school meetings, course counselling sessions and Student Support Group meetings where required
- Communicate Careers data and evidence to Leadership
- Maintain an up-to-date careers resource centre, and disseminate careers information to families via the College webpage, newsletters and Facebook and careers website
- Organise and promote careers events/excursions/guest speakers
- Establish and maintain partnerships with outside agencies to support our students, being the contact person and taking responsibility for all facets of the programs these partnerships run, such as;
- LLEN group
- Monash University (SAM Program)
- RMIT (SNAP Program)
- Organise Year 9 Mock Interview program
- Deliver VTAC classroom application sessions
- Help students with SEAS, Access and Equity, and scholarship applications
- Support students throughout the ATAR process including contact students during the change of preference period, investigating course options with students
- Prepare exit form paperwork for students requiring exemption from schooling or who are under the age of 17 years of age and are exiting secondary schooling
- Liaise with and enrol students in alternative programs eg Narre Community Learning Centre, Berwick TEC.
