Pay Rate: $37.20 - $39.01 per hour depending upon experience

About the role
Southern Cross Catholic College is seeking an experienced and dedicatedCareers/VET Officer.
Working collaboratively with Careers and VET Program leaders, this role assists in the management and support of students in years 7 -12 in relation to career pathways and VET programs. This will include assisting with the management of School- based apprenticeships and traineeships, work experience, work placement and students undertaking VET courses.
Key Accountabilities
- Organise work experience and work placement (Vocational) for students
- Support the College's careers program and curriculum in line with the College's strategic vision and goals
- Coordinate and provide the facilities, resources and materials required for delivery of careers programs and VET courses
- Support students' transition from school to the next phase of life
- Assist with the management of school-based Apprenticeships/Traineeships
About You
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the tertiary and VET sectors
- Ability to support the College’s career experiences and pathway plans
- Strong proficiency in the use of digital technologies
- Proven ability to embrace and contribute to new approaches when working in a changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Proven ability in establishing links to the workplace via networking
- Highly developed communication skills
- Ability to organise work, manage own time to meet deadlines and be adaptable in response to changing priorities
Mandatory Criteria
- Current Working with Children Suitability Card or eligibility to obtain same - the successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland Government
- Vocational qualifications in a related field or equivalent experience
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Ability to travel from time to time within the Catholic Diocese of Townsville
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner
