About the opportunity
The Carer Support Team is responsible for the recruitment, assessment, training, development and retention of foster carers in the Samaritans Permanency Support Program (PSP).
The Case Manager –is responsible for the assessment, review and authorisation of carers in accordance with legislative requirements and will provide in-home coaching and more formal training to assist carers to meet the health, education, social, emotional and cultural needs of children and young people.

Essential Criteria
- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Welfare, Psychology, Education or any other relevant tertiary qualifications and relevant transferrable experience;
- Sound professional knowledge and theory base particularly in the areas of trauma, attachment and therapeutic care.
- Knowledge and understanding of the NSW Child Protection and Out-of-Home Care environment and the legislation that governs case management practice in this area.
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating coaching and training.
- Demonstrated experience in undertaking assessments.
- Proven assessment writing skills
- Exceptional organisational and administration skills to adhere to deadlines while working under pressure.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills to be able to work effectively with a wide range of diverse people and stakeholders.
- A non-judgemental and strength-based approach to engaging and working with children and young people, their carers and families.
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to maintain confidentiality and accountability; including records of children and young people, their carers and families and team discussions.
The successful applicant will possess or willingness to obtain the following: NSW Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, First aid & CPR certificates and undertake a pre-employment functional medical.
