What can you gain from completing an apprenticeship through Work & Training?
- You would be employed by Work & Training - the largest employer of Apprentices and Trainees in Tasmania, and hosted for the duration of your apprenticeship to our valued host business Scotia.
- Scotia are a small builder in Hobart that specialise in New home builds as well as heritage restoration work.
- You would be part of a committed team and under guidance with one on one support of the site supervisor.
- Theory training is conducted at TasTAFE.
- Your Work & Training Business Consultant provides mentoring and employment support.
- At the completion of your apprenticeship you would receive a nationally recognised Certificate III in Carpentry (CPC30220)
Learn how to:
- Work one on one with a qualified builder – learning all aspects of residential construction.
- Safely demolish existing structures, renovate and extend current structures.
- Work on Heritage listed dwellings.
- Work safely on busy building sites, alongside of other trade persons, at times one on one.
- Utilise power tools safely and in accordance to WHS policies and procedures.
Desired attributes:
- VET Construction qualification.
- Previous work experience.
Essential attributes:
- Hold a current drivers licence and a reliable vehicle.
- Have a White Card
- Have the ability to pass a pre-employment medical that includes drug and alcohol testing.
- Have a current Working with Vulnerable People Card and National Police Check (or ability to gain)
