Job description

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled FIFO Chef to join our team at Carrapateena, South Australia. As a FIFO Chef, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the culinary needs of our team are met during their shifts on-site. This position requires a high level of professionalism, culinary expertise, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of your designated food section and station.
- Efficiently complete assigned duties to maintain productivity.
- Familiarize yourself with other kitchen sections to promote flexibility and productivity.
- Ensure all food produced adheres to kitchen recipes and standards.
- Prepare and cook food items within your specific area of responsibility with a sense of urgency.
- Maintain compliance with current food health and hygiene regulations in food handling and storage.
- Keep work area, equipment, and section clean in accordance with health and hygiene regulations.
- Monitor daily kitchen food and product requirements, communicating needs to supervisors in advance.
- Control food preparation and wastage costs by following efficient preparation methods and standard recipes.
- Understand proper usage and storage of cleaning agents following health and safety regulations and manufacturer's instructions.
- Follow procedures for reporting lost property.
- Perform other duties as directed by the manager or supervisor, in line with your skills and experience.

Requirements:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery is essential.
- Previous experience as a Chef in a bulk commercial kitchen, preferably in a FIFO setting.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment medical and instant D&A testing.
- Ability to fly out via Port Augusta or Adelaide Airport.
- Strong understanding of food health and hygiene regulations.
- Exceptional culinary skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Positive attitude, adaptability, and teamwork.
