THE ROLE
WSSSA is committed to providing specialist support services for women of diverse cultural and linguistic (CALD) backgrounds who are in unsafe relationships.
Our Specialist CALD Domestic & Family Violence Case Managers work with CALD women and their children who are at risk of or experiencing domestic and family violence.
This role is a part time, working 30 hours per week (0.8FTE), fixed term contract until June 2024.
In this role you will use your experience of working with CALD communities, and your knowledge of Domestic & Family Violence undertake risk assessments, specialised case management and safety planning to promote quality service responses to our clients.
ABOUT YOU
To succeed in this exciting position you will have experience in the provision of crisis intervention and case management to CALD communities in a domestic violence or related setting. Other key requirement include:
- Understanding of risk assessments and safety management strategies;
- Strong interpersonal skills, & initiative to problem solve and initiate planned responses;
- A capacity to work under pressure, and at times autonomously
- Qualifications in Social Work, Community Services, and/or commensurate experience with the position
- A current drivers licence, and be eligible for, or hold a DHS Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance
- It is advantageous for the incumbent to be bi/multi-lingual from a CALD background, working with Indian/Nepali communities
