The Dooralong Transformation Centre is Australia's largest drug, alcohol and gambling rehabilitation centre providing residential support services in an abstinence based, drug-free environment.
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Case Worker to provide efficient day to day service delivery through education, interventions, group work, assessment, referral and case work within a recovery-orientated and person-led service environment.
This is a permanent, full-time position based in Dooralong, NSW. Salary and conditions are in accordance with SCHADS Level 4. The successful applicant will be reporting to the Senior Case Worker.
You will successfully
- Develop and monitor individual treatment plans and maintain case management documentation, records, reports and data collection, utilising established case planning procedures.
- Undertake ad hoc duties as requested by the Manager, Program Manager, or Senior Case Worker.
- Demonstrate commitment to an environment that values continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high quality services.
- Acquire and maintain a good working knowledge of referral and support options for participants.
- Work collaboratively and professionally with other services.
You will have
- A current NSW Driver Licence.
- A minimum of Diploma level qualification in a relevant discipline (AOD, Community Services, Case Management).
- Completed 4 AOD Skill Set Units (or willing to undertake/complete during employment).
- At least two years' experience in recovery, if applicable.
- Demonstrated the ability to deal with unpredictable situations and behaviours utilising de-escalation techniques.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to work with those impacted by substance abuse, gambling and mental health conditions.
- Demonstrated strong administrative, time-management and communication skills.
- Knowledge of AOD, mental health, community services and health sectors.
- Sound computer literacy.
- The ability to critically reflect on professional practice and attitudes.
- The ability to develop and tailor programs to meet participants' needs.
- Experience providing brief intervention and harm minimization information and support to individuals.
- Experience working in collaboration with other organisations.
