Our role is to work side by side and help increase their capacity to lead safe and healthy lives with improved life choices.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Atunypa Wiru Minyma Uwankaraku Service is a domestic and Family Violence support and advocacy service for Aboriginal women and children living in the NPY region. The service is informed by a holistic and relational understanding of violence that acknowledges the key role of family and community relationships in working effectively with indigenous clients.

This role is based in Alice Springs and requires significant travel to the NPY lands, meaning dedicated time out bush and in community. Staff have accommodation and vehicles provided to support this travel, along with travel allowance. Working alongside the Community Development team is also essential to the Case Worker role, as per the Strengthening Community Capacity to End Violence Framework.  The Practice Framework can be found on our website.

You will also have an interest in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and cross-cultural environments.

This is your opportunity to make a real impact alongside a dedicated, skilled and supportive group of people. The organisation is committed to working within the NPY lands for the benefit of Anangu people in the region and you will work in an environment and landscape unique to Australia.

You will work within a supportive, trauma-informed framework and we provide a comprehensive, culturally aware orientation program. You will receive best practice clinical supervision and professional development that includes vicarious trauma, case management and four-wheel drive training.

In addition to this we offer a generous remuneration package. You will receive an above award salary, salary packaging benefits, 25 days of annual leave, 5 days of additional leave and 15 days of personal leave.
