This unique and specialized role aims to provide crucial, therapeutic and evidence-based interventions to children, young people and families affected by Child Protection and mental health concerns. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, non-clinical service delivery to culturally and linguistically diverse children and their families.
This role will involve;
- Develop effective partnerships with key stakeholders, particularly those engaged with children, young people, and families, to enhance collaborative efforts.
- Provide comprehensive information about services to stakeholders, ensuring awareness and engagement.
- Utilize evidence-based, non-clinical therapeutic groups to develop the capacity of children, young people, and families, fostering positive outcomes.
- Disseminate information and education to destigmatize early intervention, Child Protection, and mental health issues, promoting self-help seeking behaviors among children, young people, and families.
- Identify early signs of mental health issues, facilitate appropriate referrals, and support interventions for individuals experiencing mental health challenges, contributing to resilience building.
- Raise community awareness on early intervention, Child Protection, and mental health issues through culturally appropriate promotional materials, events, and outreach programs.
The requirements for this role include;
- Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology, Social Science or related field
- Minimum 2 years casework experience in a child & family based program
- Demonstrated understanding of mental health issues and experience in the delivery of early intervention strategies
- A valid driver’s license and access to a car with comprehensive insurance
- Current WWCC and National Police Check
