We offer a range of services including Harm Reduction and Primary Health Services as well as a range of treatment types (including residential treatment centres, community-based support programs, counselling and withdrawal management services).
About the role
We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Case Worker to provide efficient day to day service delivery through education, interventions, group work, assessment, referral and case work within a recovery orientated and person led service environment.
You will successfully
- Demonstrate commitment to an environment that values continuous improvement and innovation in the delivery of high-quality services
- Provide services either face to face, office-based or at an agreed safe location, in group settings, by telephone or digitally as well as with outreach
- Acquire and maintain a good working knowledge of referral and support options for participants
- Respond to new referrals, explain the purpose of the service and undertake assessments to identify risks and jointly determine priority needs
- Work collaboratively and professionally with other services
This is a casual position based at the Townsville Recovery Services Centre in Rowes Bay. Salary and conditions are in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care A Disability Services Level 4 Award.
You will have
- Minimum of Diploma level qualification in a relevant discipline, and knowledge of AOD/Gambling, Community Services and Health Sectors
- A current QLD Drivers Licence
- Demonstrated experience and skills in working with those impacted by substance abuse and mental health conditions
- Experience and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural systems and protocols and the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People
- Experience in effective case management and facilitation
- Experience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and religions
