About The RoleIn your role, you will prepare high-quality, wholesome meals. This entails preparing a shopping list, grocery shopping, and cooking, all within the client's private residence. You may also be required to conduct one-on-one cooking classes for clients who wish to learn how to cook or build self-confidence.
You will work closely with clients on menu development and planning, so a desktop/laptop computer and reliable internet connection is essential.
This role would suit an empathetic, family-oriented Chef looking for a change of pace. The hours are family-friendly, rarely nights (up to 6 pm) and seldom weekends. Give back to the community and work in a sector that needs good chefs. If you don't want to work weekends or nights, you don't have to.
If you're not a qualified Chef but have excellent food knowledge and a proven track record of 15 years of commercial experience in various settings including contract catering, private chef, or decent restaurants you are encouraged to apply.
You Will Need- Your own insured & reliable, clean car
- Drivers license
- Own knives and chefs uniform
- Reliable internet, phone camera, email, computer, and printer
- Communication - Excellent verbal and written English
- Professional written references
- Permanent residency or Australian citizen
Required Qualifications- Trade Qualified Chef preferred (International qualification welcome)
- Experience in a similar role working for disability support company, catering, or private chef, highly regarded
- Experience working in the disability sector, highly regarded
- Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene
- Have a genuine passion for food and enthusiasm to help people
- Drivers licence
- National police check
- Food handlers certificate
- Blue card
- First aid cert
