About the Role
An opportunity currently exists for a Dietitian Assistant to join the Nutrition Team on a casual basis. As a Dietitian Assistant you will be responsible for providing a high level of food and nutrition support services to patients according to the Hospital and Nutrition Department Guidelines within the assigned areas of responsibility.- Gather and record up to date information on patients' diet codes and meal status
- Collect meal orders in a timely manner according to appropriate diet codes and nutritional requirements
- Assist patients to make appropriate daily meal choices under the guidance of the nursing caring for the patient and in conjunction with the unit Dietitian
- Gather and record up to date information on patients requiring enteral feeds and supplements
The classification for this position ranges from HS1A - HS17 ($27.75 - $31.95 per hour plus casual loading).
Your Contribution
- Accredited degree, TAFE diploma or equivalent in relevant area or working towards the completion of such a certificate or extensive prior employment experience in a similar role
- Well-developed interpersonal and customer service skills, including the ability to communicate well with patients, their families and other staff
- Excellent computer skills
- The ability to prioritise and organise a workload within the resources available
- Ability to perform as part of a team
- Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain
