About the facility
Our team at Barwon Health provide clinical services to inpatients and outpatients across all clinical services at University Hospital Geelong and McKellar Centre. Our services promote the concept of a cooperative teamwork model, where staff are expected to pursue clinical excellence, consumer-centre care and interdisciplinary teamwork. Additionally the team provide clinical placements for Deakin dietetics students, coordinated by Student Placement Coordinator, and have a strong relationship with Food Services via our Food Service Dietitian.
About the role
As the Dietitian Assistant you will be responsible for the support of menu services to inpatients at McKellar Centre, requiring specialised therapeutic diets. The position is a job-share position (minimum of 4 hours x 4 days/fortnight including weekends and public holidays), as well as back-filling annual leave and/or sick leave on other days of the other Dietitian Assistants at both University Hospital Geelong and the McKellar Centre.
The duties of the role include (but not limited to):
Distributing, discussing & collecting inpatient food choices from a selective menu.
Entering patient meal choices into a computerised food service system.
Close liaison with the clinical dietitians regarding patients' dietary needs.
Various non-clinical & administrative duties as delegated.
