Casual roles currently available for the 2023 / 2024 fire season may include duties such as:
- Setting up campsites
- Organising inventory of clothing and stock
- Assisting suppliers in the catering department
- Providing meals for Emergency Services workers
- General kitchen tasks
- Operation of plant and equipment including Forklifts
- Re-fuelling vehicles
- General cleaning duties
- Other related tasks
IMPORTANT: These opportunities will only be available in the event of a significant natural disaster occurring in the Gippsland Region. As a support worker, you will not be tasked with firefighting or any other frontline duties.
Eligibility CriteriaCandidates need to be fully onboarded prior to deployment and must be available for an immediate start as work can occur at short notice.
To be eligible for this work, you will:
- Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen with a valid passport (evidence required)
- Be physically fit and work ready (repetitive manual handling tasks involved)
- Hold a Current National Police Check
- Hold a current Drivers’ Licence
- Hold a current Forklift Licence (beneficial, however not essential)
- Complete an Online Induction
- Complete required training, such as Basic Wildfire Training (BWA)
