The RNA is currently seekingCasual Kitchen Stewardsto join the Royal International Convention Centre (RICC) and Brisbane Showgrounds Stewarding team. The RNA is an events based business and this is a casual position with work being dependent on business needs. The applicant will need to have a wide scope of availability as hours will fluctuate and will include weekend work. Kitchen Stewards are responsible for the cleaning and sanitising of the kitchen areas, utensils and equipment, the monitoring and control of stock and chemicals, and the rotation/storage of inventory. This role will assist the kitchen brigade in keeping a well organised, clean, and productive kitchen.

- Ensure the kitchen and all surfaces and utensils are kept clean and in their appropriate place.
- Ensure all rubbish and waste products are disposed of appropriately, in the correct time frames and in line with hygiene and OHS guidelines.
- Monitor stock levels and place orders for required stock. Ensure that all foods are correctly stored and rotated upon receipt of new food items. Check and sign for any deliveries
- Follow all cleaning protocols, rosters and checklists, ensuring chemicals are used according to standards.
- complete all washing and cleaning duties on shift to ensure sufficient crockery, cook wear and utensils are available to the kitchen brigade.
- Comply with any reasonable requests made by kitchen staff in the course of your shift to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen that assists the kitchen staff with the execution of their duties.
- Operate all machinery in line with operating instructions and maintain machinery and surrounding areas to the highest possible standards.
- Comply with RNA Showgrounds policies and procedures and relevant appropriate legislation and meet OHS, anti-discrimination, equal opportunity and other legislative requirements in accordance with the parameters of the above position.

Experience:
- Minimum 6 months experience in a commercial kitchen- desired though not essential
- Proven track record of working in a fast paced environment while providing excellent support for the kitchen brigade.
- Have knowledge of OHS and hygiene standards in commercial kitchens.
