The Role
If you are a registered nurse who would like to keep your skills active in a casual role, this could be an ideal opportunity for you.
This role will provide cover for our School Nurse during periods of absence. The primary purpose of the School Nurse is to provide quality health care for the whole PLC community, from children in the Early Learning Centre through to our Senior School, including the Boarding House.
The School Nurse also attends to the needs of staff and seeks to promote health and wellbeing and to reduce the incidence of health-related absenteeism.
The incumbent to the Casual School Nurse position would work any one of two possible shifts, during school Terms: 8.00am-4.00pm (Senior School) or 9.00am-3.00pm (Junior School).
About You
You are a registered nurse, with current Apply First Aid and CPR certifications. Experience in paediatrics and / or mental health would be well regarded.
The work of the School Nurse is self-directed and clinically autonomous, therefore the incumbent will be expected to possess the necessary skills, accuracy and confidence in their approach to attend to the health care needs of students and staff.
You possess a calm. empathetic manner, and are able to build trusting and positive relationships with young children, teenagers, and colleagues alike.
You are process driven, with excellent organisational skills, strong attention to detail and excellent record keeping skills.
