We are seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to ensure that our on-course TAB betting operators are expertly trained and prepared to deliver top-notch customer service during our vibrant Carnival season.
This role combines operational duties with educational responsibilities, making it perfect for those who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about mentoring others.
Position Overview:
- Conduct comprehensive training sessions for new and returning on-course TAB betting operators, covering bet types, betting procedures, customer service, and practical instruction on the new VOST on-course terminal.
- Manage live betting operations, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of all bets and transactions.
- Evaluate trainees' performance and provide ongoing support and constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with the other team to members to continuously improve the training program.
- Ensure compliance with all industry regulations related to betting and gambling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver both introductory and refresher training sessions using provided training materials, including manuals, presentations, and job aids.
- Oversee the betting area, ensuring a smooth operation and resolving any customer or operational issues as they arise.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends and regulatory requirements, applying this knowledge to both training and operational roles.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Workplace Trainer or a similar teaching role is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of TAB betting procedures and systems, or the ability to quickly learn and impart this knowledge.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and group facilitation skills.
- Adaptable training style to accommodate various learning styles.
- High commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Requirements:
- Availability to work flexible hours, particularly Thursday evenings and Saturdays during the busy Carnival period from June to early August.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is preferred but not required.
- Must obtain or possess a current TAB Compliance certificate.
- Preference for Darwin permanent residents.
