We offer more than 400 courses, from Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)/ Victorian Certificate of Education Vocational Major (VCE VM)/ Vocational Education and Training Delivered to Secondary Students (VETDSS), through to nationally accredited qualifications such as certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas, degrees, graduate certificates, graduate diplomas, and short courses.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Casual Teacher- Sport and Recreation teacher provides professional teaching and vocational expertise, across all aspects of delivery, planning and performance to ensure excellent outcomes for learners, the organisations that employ them and the communities they serve.
This position focuses on excellence in learner support, teaching delivery and learning assessment.
You will be a key and active participant of the Allied Health Department that has disciplines across Dental, Allied Health Assistance, Sports and Massage, Aquatics and Community Recreation, First Aid and Pool Lifeguard and works to promote educational excellence, business growth and student-centred services for the Allied Health team.
Your key accountabilities will be to:
  • Plan education practices and delivery sessions that reflect the most effective way to engage learners
  • Design and develop high quality teaching and learning resources including tailored materials in a range of formats to suit varying learning styles
  • Develop and deliver planned teaching sessions in a variety of innovative and adaptive ways, using technology, including Moodle
  • Create and maintain a safe and supportive environment that meets the needs of diverse learners
  • Proactively support the effective use of Institute learning resources and meet student needs by increasing the use of blended learning options, workplace or offsite delivery and mobile technologies
  • Work collaboratively with industry to align current and emerging industry needs and facilitate relevant and responsive delivery models that engage learners
  • Undertake a range of administrative, coordination, and learning services activities directly related to the areas taught
  • ABOUT YOU
  • You are a highly motivated individual with well-developed skills in transferring knowledge, including the ability to research, select and use a wide range of learning resources and assessment tools, in addition to a strong understanding of contemporary approaches to education, teaching and learning.
You will have the following tertiary qualifications-
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or qualifications that meet the ASQA Standards
  • Vocational qualifications at AQF level 5 or above in the fields of Sport and Recreation Management, Sport Science and/or Exercise Science
  • Current and Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Vocational currency as demonstrated through a range of work and related experience.
  • A record of Vocational Competency, mapped to Units of Competency engaged to deliver.
  • A record of Professional Currency, demonstrating current industry and teaching knowledge
It would be considered advantageous if you would have a qualification at AQF level 5 or above in the fields of Education or a higher Education qualification in Sport Science or Sports Management
