Salary Range: $24.92 - $35.98 per hour plus penalties for evening, weekend and public holiday shifts. Under 21 years of age rates may apply.
Your Opportunity
The Robina campus is not just a place of learning for our students, but a place for the community to come together. Students will practise their new-found skills, connecting with the local community in our commercial businesses including a Café, Rooftop Restaurant, and Conference and Banquet Centre.
As a Food and Beverage Attendant you will:
- Uphold the highest quality standards for the food and beverage operations inside our café, restaurant and event centre.
- You will work with your team members to deliver a high quality service experience to both customers and students as well as participate in the day to day operations in front of house Food and Beverage areas.
- Must be available to work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends and Public Holidays as required.
This position reports to the Operations Manager.
This is a Casual opportunity unless otherwise determined.
The position will be based primarily at Robina however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Showcase a warm and friendly style of service which curates an unforgettable and personalised experience for our guests from start to finish.
- Setting up the café, restaurant or event centre ready for service
- Restocking mis-en-place
- Work with and maintain a ‘best practice’ approach to Food and Beverage operations.
- Participate in the delivery of any internal and external functions at the campus.
- Receive orders and serve customer requests completely in a timely manner.
- Understand menu content, any menu changes and promotional activities.
- Work collaboratively with the key operations staff to facilitate continuous improvement.
- The ability to multi-task and cope with high pressure service situations without compromising standards, productivity or quality.
- Keep your service area clean, tidy and well prepared.
- Efficiently manage the proper settlement of all customer accounts.
- Answer guest queries in a polite and helpful manner.
- Barista experience highly regarded.
- Understand and implement all legislation in regard to the Responsible Service of Alcohol.
- Model and actively promote an ethical and safe work environment that supports a culture of zero harm and best practice regarding health, safety, wellness and sustainability
How you will be assessed
The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
- Previous experience in food and beverage service (holding a current RSA is essential)
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a passion for delivering and creating special experiences for guests.
- Proactive and highly motivated with a willingness to part of a team with a winning attitude.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with a range of guests.
- Flexible, reliable and responsive to a range of work situations
- Previous food hygiene and cash handling experience

- Qld Responsible Management of Alcohol (RSA)
- Understanding of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the ability to adapt sustainable practices into all aspects of the role and service delivery.
