Your new role:
Reporting to the National Supply Chain Manager, this 12mth Fixed Term contract role will own various Material for Units categories and focus on maximising operational value for the business. Partnering with a range of stakeholders you will analyse the categories and look at opportunities to drive savings and efficiencies for the business.
Key responsibilities but not limited to:
Develop and implement category strategies and plans that are derived from market and data analysis and aligned with company strategies and objectives.
Identify and pursue opportunities that will drive value for the business, such as reducing costs, supply chain risks and lead times and continuously improving safety, compliance to regulations, quality and service to customers.
Support the implementation of national strategies, policies, and processes to ensure the function operates in line with the objectives of the business to deliver performance, add value, mitigate supply chain risks and deliver cost savings.
Identify, lead, and collaborate with category stakeholders to ensure their performance, technical and operational needs are met by category plans and sourcing activities.
Conduct major tenders and market engagement activities, following sourcing processes, that aligns with the category strategy and objectives.
What you will bring to the role:
Renowned for your strong knowledge of construction material markets this will be complimented by your ability to build fast and effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. Previous experience of building a category from scratch will be highly desired. Other required skills and experience include:
Strong knowledge of Material for Units, trends, and best practices.
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred but not essential.
3+ yrs proven experience within Procurement, Category Management or a related field.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to foster collaboration and build positive relationships internally and externally.
Ability to think strategically and implement and manage change.
Experienced and confident at high-level negotiations.
Skilled in Excel and other Microsoft 365 applications.
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
Competent at managing multiple projects and priorities to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proven experience in delivering results against safety, operational, service, quality, and cost targets.
Demonstrated honesty, integrity & strong business acumen and ethics.
Knowledge of the modular building, construction or resource industry is an advantage.
