About the role:We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated
Category Manager to oversee one of this clients biggest categories. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in category management, with a focus on the retail space. This role requires strategic thinking, excellent negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of market trends.
Responsibilities:- Category Strategy: Develop and implement category strategies to drive growth and profitability. Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities.
- Product Selection: Curate a compelling product assortment that aligns with the brand's vision and meets customer demand. Collaborate with designers, suppliers, and vendors to source new products.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels. Implement strategies to minimize excess inventory and reduce out-of-stock situations.
- Sales Analysis: Analyze sales data to evaluate category performance. Identify key drivers of sales and profitability, and make data-driven decisions to enhance category performance.
- Vendor Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Negotiate favorable terms and conditions to maximize profitability.
- Pricing Strategy: Develop and implement pricing strategies that align with market conditions and business objectives. Monitor competitor pricing and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Promotions and Marketing: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns that drive sales and increase brand awareness. Ensure consistent and effective communication of category offerings.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of assistant Category Managers and coordinators. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Budget Management: Manage category budgets, including sales forecasts, margin targets, and promotional spending. Ensure financial objectives are met.
About you:- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field, preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in category management within the fashion retail industry.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful category strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
