About the Role
The successful candidate will source quality Commercial Cleaning products, develop innovative solutions with suppliers, negotiate trading terms and maintain effective supplier relationships. Another key component of this role is driving sales and profit growth through strategic range management and marketing campaigns, while supporting the network of stores.
Duties
Clark Rubber Category Managers have significant autonomy to manage the full product lifecycle from ideation, competitive sourcing, supply chain, range & margin mix, refining product segments & products, brand custodianship, product training & knowledge, and point of purchase material.
In addition, the successful candidate will:
- Manage and achieve sales and gross profit margin budgets for the Commercial Cleaning category.
- Provide strategic direction and range concepts to the stores, attending relevant trade shows and monitoring competitor activity.
- Negotiate competitive pricing and agreements with suppliers, sourcing new products and alternative suppliers as necessary.
- Drive marketing and promotional activity, negotiating pricing and meeting promotion timelines.
About You
Category Management experience is required, with a proven track record in achieving sales.
Other skills and experience required:
- At least 5 years of buying/category management experience, preferably in cleaning categories.
- Self-motivated with a focus on outcomes and result.
- Experience in managing supplier relationships and trading terms.
- Ability to combine strong strategic and analytical thinking.
- Skilled at solving problems and commercially minded.
- Capable of understanding the impact of decision making on the business.
- Adaptable to change and able to embrace a growth-oriented mindset in a dynamic work environment
