Category Manager - Education Sector
Your new company
Our client is in the education industry, employing a best-in-class procurement team. They are currently seeking an experienced procurement professional with a broad base of exposure to end-to-end category management, strategic procurement and ideally with a facilities management or construction portfolio.
Your new role
Working in conjunction with the procurement team, the Category Manager will be responsible for providing a broad degree of support across the facilities and construction projects.
Key roles and responsibilities of the position will include:
- Development and implementation of service tools which will be tailored for all internal clients to streamline procurement processes
- Manage bids and the sourcing process, including tenders, RFPs and RFQs
- Establishing category management plans for the facilities management and construction categories, applying the best practice, outlining how agreements and opportunities will be implemented and managed to ensure maximum benefits
- Reviewing and assessing supplier performance in accordance with contractual obligations, Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators
- Providing reports to management, with details on strategic benefits, actionable opportunities, and issues.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you'll come with prior experience in category management, business critical procurement activity with a government-based background.
Key skills and experience required to be successful will include:
- Strong category management background and skills
- Relevant undergraduate qualification or procurement related qualifications
- Thorough understanding of contracts relating to services/projects
- Experience with tender processes
