AddressAs the Category Manager, your role will entail overseeing a specific product category within the business. Working in close collaboration with cross-functional teams such as merchandising, marketing, operations, and finance, your primary objective will be to ensure that the product category (Accessories) effectively meets customer needs, managing a significant revenue budget while aligning with the overall business goals. You will directly report to the Group Category Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive category strategy in line with the company's vision and objectives.
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify emerging product opportunities and stay abreast of industry trends.
- Collaborate closely with the merchandising team to curate and select products that resonate with customers and remain competitive in the market.
- Work alongside the marketing team to craft impactful product positioning, messaging, and promotional strategies.
- Monitor category performance metrics and provide recommendations to optimize product offerings, pricing strategies, and promotional activities.
- Effectively manage category budgets and resources to meet sales and profit targets.
- Cultivate strong partnerships with key suppliers and partners to negotiate favourable terms and ensure consistent product supply.
- Stay informed about industry regulations and standards pertaining to the category, ensuring compliance and product quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in category management or a related area.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical capabilities, leveraging data to drive decision-making.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, fostering productive relationships across teams.
- A passion for innovation and a customer-centric approach.
- Previous experience in retail, e-commerce, or consumer goods industries is advantageous.
