YOUR ROLE
The Category Manager (Non-ICT) will assist the Procurement team with providing expert direction, advice and guidance to the organisation on best practice procurement strategies and management.
The Category Manager (Non-ICT) will provide the following services to MACS offices and schools.
- Review of contracts, spend analysis, and business plans to identify value opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of annual sourcing programs.
- Management of the procurement processes for approved sourcing initiatives including the development of sourcing strategies through to the award of contracts.
- Collaborate with the Procurement Analyst to maintain the spend data and dashboard, and to track financial and non-financial benefits.
- Procurement process improvement initiatives.
- Projects to roll out procurement policies, procedures, operating model, and frameworks.
- Supplier management, including implementation of contracts with contract managers, and the performance management of key strategic suppliers.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Provide support to the Procurement team with Modern Slavery reporting requirements and the cleansing and categorisation of spend data on a quarterly frequency.
- Track all financial and non-financial benefits including obtaining Finance Team validation on financial benefits.
- Work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to introduce new suppliers, to performance manage existing suppliers, and to close out contracts with departing suppliers.
- Provide support to MACS staff to effectively implement and to influence compliance with MACS procurement policies and guidelines.

- Ability to derive insights from data and to develop value generating initiatives.
- High-calibre engagement and communication skills and experience in developing strong stakeholder relationships.
- Developed negotiation skills and experience in creating value and managing risk in supply chains.
- Exposure to working in a dynamic environment and experience in organising and prioritising workload.
- Positive attitude towards process and value improvement, being out of your comfort zone, challenging the current state, and moving the Procurement Team towards best practice.
