About the Role:
We want an experienced Category Manager that is strategically minded and likes to bring innovation and newness to life. We currently have a high-profile role available for a Category Manager to come in and make a real impact in one of our most pivotal Categories. Working closely with the Marketing team, you will make a real difference to the overall go to market position within these categories.
At Clark Rubber you will be able to truly own the category, no handing over the implementation and watching someone else change the idea. You will finally have end to end responsibility and the freedom to make it as big as you can.
Your aim will be to develop and execute strategies to achieve sales and margin budgets for the category. Utilising your skill as an expert in the end-to-end process of buying, knowledge of product strategy as well as your drive and tenacity, you can truly make this your category.
Some of the other key responsibilities will include:
- Identifying key market trends
- Sourcing quality and value for money appropriate category products generally from overseas suppliers
- Developing new and innovative products in conjunction with suppliers
- Developing effective training programs to ensure the staff in-store are the most knowledgeable experts in Australia.
Skills & Experience:
- Over 5 years buying/category management experience.
- Get excited about numbers.
- Regard success as overachieving sales and profit budgets.
- Solid experience with range planning and strategy development.
- Knowledge of overseas sourcing and importing.
- Experience in managing supplier relationships and trading terms.
- Excel skills are a must.
- Experience in a retail franchise business is an advantage.
- Candidates with previous experience in managing Hardware, or Seasonal categories will be highly regarded.
