About the opportunity:
Finance & Corporate Services are seeking a Category Officer to join their Corporate Materials and Services team in a permanent capacity. The Category Officer will be responsible for the establishment and management of categorised and non-categorised contracts. The contracts established and managed by the Category Officer will generally contain uncomplicated, low value contracts representing low risk to SA Power Networks and Enerven.
Key Responsibilities Include
The Category Officer will be accountable for:
- Undertaking sourcing exercises to establish contracts that ensure the timely, quality and value for money procurement of materials and services at an acceptable level of risk
- Undertaking market research
- Developing and issuing RFT documentation
- Establishing evaluation criteria and evaluating tender submissions
- Negotiating with suppliers
- Managing departures to SA Power Networks’ standard conditions of contract
- Risk management
- Developing accurate and professional contract documents and reports
- Undertaking contract management of their portfolio of contracts i.e. amendments and extensions
- Managing contract details in SAP for their portfolio of non-categorised contracts, as well as the categorised contracts for the Corporate Materials and Services Category team
- Liaising and communicating with internal customers, suppliers and management
- Establishing measurements to track actual savings v estimated (where required) for their portfolio of contracts
- Adhering to SA Power Networks Procurement Directive and QMS procedures
About you
To be successful in this role you will have advanced strategic sourcing skills as well as highly developed category management, supplier relationship management and negotiation skills. You will have excellent communication skills accompanied by a strategic and innovative mind-set.
Other criteria include:?
- Degree in Procurement and/or the equivalent level of skills and knowledge gained through experience?
- Member Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) (prepared or in the process of obtaining membership status)?
- Demonstrated contracting or sourcing experience within a large or complex organisation
