We're looking for an Aboriginal Community Engagement Officer to connect Aboriginal youth with vital mental health and wellbeing services.About the Role:
- Promote Awareness: Spread the word about our services to Aboriginal young people, their families, and the community.
- Support Access: Help young people connect with the support they need for mental health, substance use, and social recovery.
- Community Engagement: Organize and participate in events to promote mental health and wellbeing.
- Collaborative Effort: Work with our dedicated team to enhance support for Aboriginal youth.
- You are of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identify as being Aboriginal and be accepted in the community as such.
- You hold relevant and appropriate tertiary qualifications or an appropriate degree of a recognised University or College of Advanced Education requiring a minimum of three years full time study or other qualifications deemed by the Health Administration Corporation to be the equivalent thereof.
- You have experience building relationships and working collaboratively with Aboriginal communities, and a good understanding of the issues impacting the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal young people.
- You have experience or willingness to deliver youth programs, events and activities within an Aboriginal community setting.
- You hold a current NSW drivers licence and are willing to travel to locations within the District.
- Work for the largest employer on the Central Coast.
