Located in the picturesque Nagambie Lakes wine region and focused on the production of premium Victorian Wines, Mitchelton Winery provides the opportunity to work with a range of varieties and wine styles. We are seeking a motivated, well-organized individual to join our team on a full-time basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a hands-on role with good training and task diversity. Primarily a cellar-based role, it involves involvement in all areas of wine-making, from harvest to bottle.
The Cellar Hand will work closely with the wine-making team to maintain high standards and performance outcomes. Tasks include running processing equipment and presses, pump overs, transfers, additions, and sanitation of tanks and lines. There will also be some tasks involving filtration, barrel work, blending, and bottling preparation. It is important that you are able to work in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring your housekeeping is to a high standard.

• A mechanical aptitude
• Drivers License and Forklift License
• Excellent problem solving
• Keen attention to detail
• High standards of cleanliness
• Ability to follow instructions with safety of yourself and others as a primary consideration
• An understanding of basic wine-making principles
• Strong teamwork and communication skills with an ability to maintain and build a positive work environment
• Ability to work autonomously and unsupervised with a can do attitude
Expectations for this role:
- Have the ability to work weekends, extended hours or night shift if required (during vintage)
- Experience is preferred but not essential
- Good communication skills
- Enthusiastic to undertake relevant training
- Able to carry out physical work on a day to day basis
- Able to work longer hours during vintage period
