San Miguel Yamamura Australasia (SMYA) is an established leader in packaging and contract wine filling in Australia and New Zealand.  We started as Cospak Pty Ltd over 40 years ago and today the company is a joint venture between two packaging leaders, San Miguel Corporation of the Philippines and Nihon Yamamura Glass of  Japan.  SMYA is headquartered in Sydney and is present in all the major states across Australia and in Auckland, New Zealand.

SMYA, a collective packaging specialist is composed of the synergies between:

• SANECTOR (contract beverage bottling, packaging & distribution)

We are currently looking for an experienced Cellar Hand to join our SANECTOR team in Melbourne. 

Whilst initially on day shift during the training period, you will then be required to work on a rotating roster pattern.

This is a great opportunity to join our busy, hands on team and experience all aspects of our beverage manufacturing and production business.

Position Description

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Blending of beverages in preparation for bottling team
• Unloading of bulk wine, bulk wine transfers, handling and additions
• Cellar hygiene & maintenance
• Bulk wine and beverage quality control
• Documentation and data handling
• Stock management & ordering
• Training in laboratory analysis is also provided
• Safe and efficient operation of forklifts.
• Maintain stock integrity in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice.
• Stock control including stocktakes and periodic checks.
• Other duties as required.

Previous experience in beverage handling is highly regarded.  A proven ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a strong attention to detail is required. The successful applicant will be an all-rounder, willing to chip in anywhere to meet our deadlines and achieve our goals.
