- Casual rates: $36.39/hr to $36.78/hr
- Second Classification - WHA5 - Health Ancillary Employee L5 - $1,132 to $1,144
- Casual rates: $37.25/hr to $37.64/hr
- Up to full time (multiple positions) - Permanent/ Temporary and Casual positions available.
About the Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Central Sterilising Department (CSD) as a Sterilisation Technician, where you will be responsible for:
- Cleaning, decontamination, packaging, sterilisation, and delivery of surgical and medical items processed in CSD
- Assisting with the training of new and inexperienced staff allocated to the unit
- Following day-to-day instructions from the Team Leader and NUM/Manager
- Undertaking tasks involving movement between Operating Theatres, other clinical units, and the CSD unit regularly
- Participating in a negotiated processes for performance management with the line manager
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- AQF Certificate III relevant to employee’s position (WHA4) and at least 560 hours satisfactory in service experience (WHA5)
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently as a member of a team under variable workloads and time constraints
- Clear communication skills, including the ability to accurately document and interpret analytical data
- Initiative and reliability in problem-solving and task prioritization
- Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service
- Demonstrated experience in a CSD environment through paid employment or training placement.
