  • Women's and Children's Health Network, Surgical Services, Central Sterilising Department, North Adelaide (5006)
  • Salary
    • Classification - WHA4 - Health Ancillary Employee L4 - $1,106 to $1,118
      • Casual rates: $36.39/hr to $36.78/hr
    • Second Classification - WHA5 - Health Ancillary Employee L5 - $1,132 to $1,144
      • Casual rates: $37.25/hr to $37.64/hr
  • Up to full time (multiple positions) - Permanent/ Temporary and Casual positions available.

About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Central Sterilising Department (CSD) as a Sterilisation Technician, where you will be responsible for:

  • Cleaning, decontamination, packaging, sterilisation, and delivery of surgical and medical items processed in CSD
  • Assisting with the training of new and inexperienced staff allocated to the unit
  • Following day-to-day instructions from the Team Leader and NUM/Manager
  • Undertaking tasks involving movement between Operating Theatres, other clinical units, and the CSD unit regularly
  • Participating in a negotiated processes for performance management with the line manager

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • AQF Certificate III relevant to employee’s position (WHA4) and at least 560 hours satisfactory in service experience (WHA5)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently as a member of a team under variable workloads and time constraints
  • Clear communication skills, including the ability to accurately document and interpret analytical data
  • Initiative and reliability in problem-solving and task prioritization
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service
  • Demonstrated experience in a CSD environment through paid employment or training placement.
