About the role
You will be responsible for planning and preparing nutritious snacks and meals throughout the day, with meal preparation in accordance with the Australian Dietary Guidelines.
Demonstrating your experience and creativity, you will:
- develop a rotating menu (including multicultural meals that promote new flavours and cultural awareness)
- cater for dietary, allergy, and anaphylaxis requirements
- review menus periodically and seasonally to ensure they are nutritionally balanced
- manage the kitchen and utilise your strong organisational skills to effectively plan and maintain stock
This is a part time opportunity at our busy Mount Evelyn long daycare centre. Weekdays, daytime shifts: Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 3.00pm.
About you
As a passionate cook you will:
- Hold a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Be confident running your own kitchen, ordering supplies and creating nutritious menus that cater to various dietary requirements and allergies
- Ideally you will have experience in an Early Learning or similar setting, preferred not essential
- Holding a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent would also be advantageous
- Ideally you will hold current First Aid certifications including Anaphylaxis, CPR and Asthma, preferred not essential
- Currently hold, or be willing to undertake, certifications including a Working with Children Check, Australian Right to Work Check, and National Police Check
