About the Role

This is a 2 year Full-Time Fixed Term Position

The Future Public Transport Ticketing (FPTT) System will ensure Victoria has a ticketing system that is fit for purpose for 15 years and beyond to meet customers’ expectations and the challenges of the transport network, while facilitating the efficient collection of fare revenues and unlocking potential benefits.

 The FPTT system will replace the existing Myki system with Account Based Ticketing (ABT), where customer information is stored in a centralised back-office system. ABT will enable greater travel choice for customers as well as flexibility to implement fare and policy changes quickly and to introduce new products. The FPTT system will be rolled out progressively.

Job Description

Position Outcomes / Accountabilities

  • Collaboratively mapped As-is and To-be processes, analysing and providing recommendations on gaps.
  • Drafted technical specifications to successfully document work for development.
  • Lead research and analysis to inform updates to business processes and any requirements imposed by the contract and product construct to create process improvements and conducted AS IS / TO BE process mapping for operational processes and procedures.
  • Lead the update of existing business processes and developed new processes to support business readiness working with key stakeholders across DTP.

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in the role of Business Analyst - CEVP, the ideal candidate will be accomplished in Stakeholder Management, adept at identifying common issues and cultivating mutually beneficial partnerships. They will possess the ability to discern and address underlying stakeholder needs, leveraging a deep understanding of organizational contexts to ensure successful outcomes. Accomplished in Project Delivery, the candidate will excel in translating strategies into well-structured programs, defining governance measures, roles, and responsibilities to effectively manage risks and enhance the likelihood of success. Applying effective Communication with Impact, they will skillfully prepare and deliver logical presentations using clear and concise language, tailoring their approach to diverse audiences. Proficient in Systems Thinking, the candidate will diagnose trends, obstacles, and opportunities, coaching others in employing systems thinking to devise solutions and comprehend the interconnectedness of systems within the organization. In the realm of Data Literacy, an applied understanding of data sources, collection, and structure will be demonstrated, with the ability to generate descriptive statistics and relevant visualizations using advanced Excel functions.

Personal Attributes

On a personal level, the candidate will be accomplished in fostering collaboration by guiding others to create a collaborative culture, overcoming knowledge-sharing barriers, and identifying opportunities for cross-team collaboration. Additionally, they will demonstrate accomplished flexibility and adaptability, swiftly adjusting systems and processes to accommodate changing priorities and situations. Their proactive and solution-oriented mindset will be instrumental in navigating dynamic environments and contributing to the success of the Business Analyst - CEVP role.

Qualifications and Experience

Mandatory

  • Proven ability to lead and facilitate workshops with user groups to understand needs, problem
  • solving, and opportunities for their domain.
  • High-level verbal communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to maintain working
  • relationships.
  • Exceptional organisational, problem solving and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritise and
  • meet competing deadlines, exercising judgement and initiative.
  • High level written communication and presentation skills

Desirable

  • Have an understanding of operational processes in order to produce documentation quickly.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Experience developing tools, presentations and / or training materials for internal use.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in business management or commerce is highly regarded.
